I haven't done one of these round ups for a while due to life but I'll just pick up with the trailers that caught my eye over the past week. Let's just dive right in.
Next is a movie from the twisted mind of Eli Roth. Green Inferno is the first movie Roth has made in seven years and that is a long time especially considering the large cult fan base he has from movies such as Hostel. The movie is about a group of nameless college students who fly to Peru in an effort to save the rainforest only to be stranded and taken captive by a tribe of cannibals. This is where you start seeing the styling of Roth, with his torture and gore being teased. I can almost gaurantee that this movie will be gut wrenching as it takes influence from Cannibal Holocaust. I'm still undecided on this movie but if enough of my mates are keen to watch it I just might go and see this film in cinemas other I will have to wait till it hits DVD.
First up is A Walk Among tombstones; a crime thriller/drama staring Liam Neeson as an ex cop turned private investigator who is hired by a drug dealer to find his kidnapped wife. As usual Neeson has been typecast as a cop again and I don't mind seeing as this movie doesn't seem to be focusing too much on the action but rather the crime and I am just a sucker for crime dramas, especially if they are a tad dark. The movie i based of a novel of the same name and has been in production since 2002 when Harrison ford was attached to the lead. Hopefully this movie is good because I would love to see more dark crime dramas and judging from the plot synopsis of the books, that's exactly hat happens over time to the main character, he gets darker and darker.
Next up is a romantic comedy drama that actually came out last year in a limited release at festivals and such and is finally getting released worldwide this year. What If stars Daniel Radcliff as a medical school drop out who befriends a girl but is forced to only be friends as she has a boyfriend. I know this plot sounds cheesy, corny and cliched but for some reason after watching the trailer I feel like watching this movie and I don't really watch many movies of this genre. I'll be honest this movie does seem fresh and funny which will probably hook most people and the buzz from the movie (from last year) has generally been positive. I probably won't watch this in cinemas but will wait for it to hit DVD or something.
This next movie I have had on my radar for a while since it is being produced by Guillermo del Toro. The movie is a animated comedy film which follows Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path he wants to follow he embarks on an adventure that spans three worlds where he must face his fears. If the plot alone didn't get you the art style in the movie will because it isn't you typical animation art style it seems like a cross between Burton and Guillermo and it looks amazing. I will definitely try to catch this one in cinemas cause it seems like one of those movies that is worth a full cinema experience.

Finally we have Big Hero 6 the first Marvel based production from Disney's animated team. With the comic background of marvel and the magic of Disney animation it is hard not to get excited for this movie. Not much is known about the story of the movie so far other than it revolves around a group of inexperienced crime fighters. Judging from the teaser we received it seems like this movie will more comedic but I hope for more of a sophisticated story which was promised prior to the teaser. The teaser only shows us a glimpse of Hiro and Baymax (I think) and it seems they are going a different route from the Baymax established in the comics, so it will be interesting to see where this goes. From what is shown it seems like a cookie cutter movie but I really do hope that this movie is anything but cookie cutter.
